Within the Haanja–Karula Recreation Area, Pähni Visitor Center offers visitors the opportunity to spend hours exploring the treasures of the forest museum or discovering the exhibition through an interactive mobile game. The center provides inspiration for both learning and relaxation.

The creatively designed exhibition and the 3-kilometre-long Pähni forest study trail, featuring 15 objects of interest, introduce visitors to different forest types, tree species, cultural heritage sites, and forest wildlife. Along the trail, visitors will find campfire sites and several shelters. Parts of the trail also include wooden boardwalks, ensuring comfort and accessibility throughout the year.

The center offers educational programmes for both school groups and adults to raise awareness about forests and nature. School programmes can be booked to support curriculum-based learning, including nature studies and outdoor classroom activities. In addition, the cente rorganises hikes, discussions, and practical activities such as birdwatching trips, book presentations, circus performances, and masterclasses.

Catering and visitor services are available in cooperation with local entrepreneurs. Visitors can also book guided hikes and use the visitor center facilities, camping opportunities, sauna, and campfire areas at a nearby guesthouse.

From June 16 till August 20: Mon–Sun 11:00–18:00
