Pesapuu (Nesting Tree) watchtower – a 30-metre-high symbolic tower representing protection, the cycle of life, and inspiration. From the top, the tower offers stunning views of the surrounding landscape and the chain of Rõuge lakes.

Rõuge Ööbikuorg (Nightingale Valley) is a deep, multi-layered primeval valley where nature and history meet. In spring, the valley is filled with nightingale song; summer brings greenery and tranquillity; autumn transforms the landscape into gold and mist – every season offers a distinct experience.

In Rõuge Ööbikuorg you will find:

• Rõuge Primeval Valley hiking trail (10 km) – follows lakes and valley relief towards Hinni Canyon

• Ööbikuorg short hiking trail (450 m) – a short but experience-rich walk with stairs and footbridges

• Rõuge ancient farmstead reconstruction – a historical homestead complex

• Working hydraulic rams – devices that lift water without electricity

• Ööbikuorg Hydro-workshop Museum – visit by prior booking (+372 522 3206)

• Inglisild (Angel’s Bridge) – a peaceful place for reflection

• Pesapuu Café-Shop and Visitor Centre – open daily June–August; exhibition on local nature and heritage (free entry)

• Song festival grounds – a venue for concerts and cultural events

• Sports event start and finish area – used for runs, hikes, and cycling events

The tower is easily accessible. Please note there is no elevator; access to the top is via stairs only. Parking is free.

From spring 2026, a payment terminal will be installed at the Pesapuu Watchtower, and visitors will also be able to contribute online. Voluntary visitor contributions help preserve the natural environment of Ööbikuorg and support its continued development.
