The host of Saarsilla Farm, Avo Eisen, is a guide with years of experience and a true Rõuge enthusiast who knows this area inside and out. In his stories, local legends and secrets come alive that you will never find in any guidebook – memories and knowledge gathered over decades that give the lake a completely different dimension.
A boat trip combined with a guided tour on Lake Rõuge Suurjärv is much more than just being out on the water. Avo shares stories of Rõuge’s history, mysterious places, and the lake's special energy as these waters have been known throughout time for their healing powers, experienced by those who visit. Reaching a depth of 38 metres, Suurjärv is the deepest lake in Estonia, fed by coastal springs, cool and pristine. The boat offers a view you cannot see from the shore – the slopes of the primeval valley, mirror-still water, and a silence that speaks a language of its own.
The boat can accommodate up to ten people at a time – perfect for families, groups of friends, or larger gatherings.
