We invite everyone to preserve and celebrate heritage at the traditional Plaani hand-scything competition, now in its 28th year! Come showcase your skills or simply enjoy an authentic, fun-filled countryside day out with family and friends!
THE CHAMPIONSHIP SCYTHING begins at 13:00
In the meadow alongside Plaani Church
Registration on site at 12:00 (one hour before the competition starts)
Bring your own scythe and tools for on-the-spot maintenance
Traditional trials of strength and skill for men, women, young, and old in the heart of Plaani village: nail driving, wood splitting, boot throwing, and wreath weaving.
For children:
Pinecone throwing competition
Various activities guided by the playful Glow-worm (Jaaniuss)
WHAT ELSE IS HAPPENING:
Traditional local food and drinks will be served
A chance to pet friendly farm animals
Spontaneous pop-up performances are bound to happen
